Ettore Bugatti


Ettore Bugatti was born into an artist's family, in Milan, Italy, on September 15th, 1881, since he was young he was fascinated by the technology and mechanics of the automobile, in 1901, Ettore Bugatti presented his first self-made automobile at the international exhibition in Milan. In 1909 Bugatti opened a business of his own in Molsheim, in the Alsatian region of Germany: the first five cars were built and sold in that same year. In 1911 a Bugatti won its first race and the historic model Bugatti T10 was developed. In 1921 the small Bugatti T13 took first, second, third, and fourth place in the Brescia Grand Prix, since then, every 16-valve engine built by Bugatti carries the name Brescia as a reminiscence of that amazing victory. In 1924 Ettore Bugatti launched the Model T35 which, with over 2,000 victories, was the most successful racing car of all time.

The Bugatti T 32 Tank was fitted with roller-bearing big ends, a solution studied to improve its bottom reliability, with its three-speed and reverse transaxle unit, an exceptionally short wheelbase, a long straight-8 engine, an embryonic hydraulic front brake and a wing-like section aerodynamics was definitely a revolutionary car during its time, build with innovating concepts anticipating mechanical and aerodynamic solutions introduced 40 years later in F1 Racing cars.
